Warrington Publishing was founded in 2013 as a Delaware LLC by Mikael Carlson as an independent publishing company for his novels. Mikael has gone on to publish more than nineteen novels in multiple series, becoming an Amazon best-selling author and winner of multiple book awards for his work.

It has been a challenging journey. Independent (self) publishing has been around for decades, but the introduction of Amazon and the Kindle e-reader began its stratospheric growth. In the mid-2010s, many of the resources available today to support authors were nonexistent. Everything was trial and error, and some lessons were learned the hard way.

After going through multiple editors and book cover designers, Mikael was able to finally put together a capable team. Harder still is learning how to reach readers in a crowded marketplace. Amazon publishes more than a million books every year. It can be a daunting challenge to stand out, and the tools and techniques to do so are ever-changing. What worked last year doesn’t necessarily work this year, and authors need to change with the times.

The Decision to Expand

Mikael has had the privilege of working with some fantastic new authors during his journey. What he learned is that some authors want to focus on writing. They don’t want to worry about formatting, cover design, editing, or learning the ins and outs of the modern publishing industry. So, why not open up Warrington Publishing to do the part they don’t want to while still allowing them to reap a majority of the benefits of their work?
